Throughout the offseason, this site will continue to keep the content coming with any and all news out of the Celtics camp.
In a new running section, we look forward to introducing you to some of the returning members for the 2017 Cornwall Celtics. Who better to start us off, than the teams returning captain; Tyler Akins.
Akins, a Williamstown, Ontario native will return to the 2017 roster retaining both the responsibility of team captain title as well as being the teams reigning leading scorer.
In 2016, Akins appeared in all 16 of the Celtics games, including both playoff games. Tyler's season totals included 31 goals, 38 assists, 69 points and 20 penalties in minutes in 18 games en route to securing the sole 15th spot on the league's scoring leaderboard. One of the only remaining members of the Celtics' Meredith Cup winning team, Akins will continue to bolster the teams offence for the upcoming summer.

Aside from his personal accomplishments in 2016, Tyler was successful in giving back to the lacrosse community by coaching the Cornwall Minor Lacrosse Associations Peewee 'C' team who shone in their provincials by winning their division and locking up one of the organizations three provincial championships on the season alongside the Tyke and Novice entries.
